"Ghosts of Woodstock" Characters, Shotwell and Abigail

Photo taken by Matthew Detrich from Twinsburg, Ohio,
during the 1996 Eddie Adams Workshop

Every year Nobel Prize winning Photographer Eddie Adams conducts a workshop at his Jeffersonville barn.

It's the Eddie Adams Workshop created to give promising new photographers a chance to meet the leading professionals in the field of photojournalism. Portfolios with applications for the workshop are received each year from thousands of hopeful photographers but only 100 are chosen to participate in the workshop. Ten teams of ten photographers, each photographer with 15 rolls of film, donated and processed by KODAK, are dispersed throughout the region to gather their "prizewinning" photos.

Matt Detrich was on the Blue team. He spent the weekend taking photos of the Eggink family.

This particular photo was taken at Max Yasgur's homestead on Yasgur Road and 17B in Bethel, NY, where owner, Roy Howard, hosted the Woodstock Nation's 27th Annual August Reunion and also "Jeffstock", a fundraiser for WJFF, a local public fm radio station in Jeffersonville, NY.

You can check out the BARNSTORM website and see what other photos were taken that depict "Life in Sullivan County".
