"A DAY IN THE GARDEN?"

Alan Gerry and the Town of Bethel have
desecrated the Woodstock site with concrete
mixture that will harden with the first rain.

Isn't it ironic that the radio add for "A Day In The Garden" concert scheduled for August 14-16, 1998, has Joni Mitchells' song playing in the background,

"AIN'T THAT THE WAY IT ALWAYS GOES?
YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'VE GOT 'TIL IT'S GONE.
"THEY TORE DOWN PARADISE AND PUT UP A PARKING LOT."

On the HISTORIC Woodstock site in Bethel, Sullivan County, New York, there have been many different construction projects, and plans for projects, going on for the past two months without the public's or the town's knowledge or permission: (until now)

Here's a very simple map to give you an idea of the extent of Gerry's construction on the Woodstock site...There is even more current construction going on than is shown on this map.
We will do our best to update it to current times.

Bulldozers all over the site have been digging and moving dirt and grass wherever they please, whenever they please,

A well is being dug on the top of the hill that overlooks the stage bowl area of the site. Another well has been dug kitty korner to the site on the corner of Hurd Road and West Shore Drive.

A temporary splitrail fence has been put up to intimidate people into surrendering their right to be on the property whenever they please.
(since the fence was taken down in 1969 no fence has ever been erected that has not been taken down by and/or for the people)

And the pilings of the original stage have been dug up, which were there since 1969.

But, today is the worst violation we've yet seen. Concrete on the Woodstock site.

These guys are so sneaky that they waited until the weekend when no action could be taken to stop them because they knew there would be a public outcry if anyone saw CEMENT TRUCKS pouring cement on the Woodstock site. So, they laid down what looked like gravel roads, but it's not. It's a cement mixture which hardens when it rains.

The mixture has been spread on all the dirt roads on the site, those being the one which runs the length of the site, the one that runs around the outer perimeter of the site, where Rhulens laid a genuine gravel road in 1994, and a new road has been cut across the width of the site on the first rise in the bowl area, which has also been covered with the cement mixture.
The site looks so different. It's breaking people's hearts.

And, as you can see, there's no respect for what Woodstock was, and is, all about.

A "Day in the Garden?"

These guys have obviously been too long away from the garden to remember what it looks like, or who hangs out there.

Let's pray that God will enlighten and have mercy on all the Alans who have helped to make this happen.
Allen Scott, Bethel Town Supervisor,
Alan Gerry, a billionaire who thinks he can buy and own what God has given to the people,
and last, but not least,
Alan Martin, Major of the New York State Police, for his desire to be on, while we're off.

And remember to thank God that there are some things that are more powerful than money, which these guys need to know. Prayer is one of them.
