Daniel,

My father came over to the United States when he was ten with four brothers, three sisters and parents in 1956.  My grandfather, Antonius settled the family in Elkhart, Indiana, close to his brother Bernard who came to the States earlier and lives in South Bend.  Another child was soon born in the States to complete the family at nine.  My grandfather passed away in 1987 and my grandmother, Bertha, in 1997.  My great uncle Bernard and his wife, Rijk, are alive and well in South Bend.  All my aunts and uncles are still alive in various places.  From oldest to youngest they are:

Tony, St. Paul, Minnesota with two children

Harry (my father,) Muncie, Indiana with myself and my brother

Elsha, Wichita, Kansas with two children

Mia, Elkhart, Indiana with three children

Joe, Elkhart Indiana with four children

Paul, Elkhart, Indiana with no children

Tina, Elkhart, Indiana with three children

Alfonse, Elkhart, Indiana with two children

Roy, Seattle, Washington with two children

My family's roots trace back to the town of Vorden, Netherlands.  We still
keep in close contact with our relatives back there and are frequently
visiting there as they coming here to visit us.  From our branch of the
Eggink forest, I know of my close relatives here in the States, as well as
some in Luxembourg, and New Zealand.

This August 12 and 13, as many of us as is possible to stay in Vorden will
come to together for a reunion.  There is a website up about the event
although it has kind of stalled in the construction phase, its at:

http://eggink.cjb.net

It was put up by my second cousins Christian and Roy Nijenhuis.  The
Nijenhuises are our primary contact in Holland and are pincipally organizing
the event.  If you can make it to the Netherlands this mid-August, all are
welcome, and  I wish you the best of luck in re-constructing the history of
our name.
