We Want to apologize
to anyone who had hoped to receive a Woodstock Nation Foundation Phonecard.
Last Spring of 1997, we were contacted by two women, who had read an article,
about our efforts to protect free assembly at the Woodstock site, in the
local newspaper. They said they represented a phonecard company and wanted
to help us raise some funds for the foundation. We worked together and
created the graphics for the phonecard which you see displayed above. We
also set up a bank account at the Fleet bank for the deposits from the
card sales. It seemed to be moving along just fine until the two women
came to an impasse about how the phonecard company they represented was
handling the account. The company demanded orders for the cards before
they would print the cards. This upset one of them because it meant we
had to pay for a large order of cards before we could get any samples of
what the card looked like. Well, one thing led to another and we never
got the cards printed for lack of seed money. Oh well, we tried. The few
orders that came in to the bank were returned with their money back. Perhaps
we can try again when we have some capitol for the initial purchase of
the cards. We live and learn...
